Neuroplasticity reflects the journey of changing from within. The two women in this work are not two different people. They are the same woman, seen at different points in her journey. On one side, she is struggling, trapped in her own thoughts, still wanting change. The plastic bag represents that suffocating state of mind. The journey of change asks us to unlearn old patterns and slowly learn new ones. The twisting brass elements represent that process, the forming of new neural connections. On the other side, she rests. Same woman, understanding herself differently. In a calm fetal position, she has a different relationship with herself now. She meets what comes with greater awareness and alignment. The difference is the journey between them.
